Reverend Hyunoh Kim Ordained to Won Buddhism in 1993, South Korea. Reverend Kim's motivation to begin her spiritual journey towards the realization of the Buddha Dharma started at age 13. One day she was greatly moved by a dharma talk about the life and enlightenment of the Great Master Sot'aesan (1891-1943), the founder of Won-Buddhism. Since then, her aspiration and dedication to the Won-Buddhist faith and practice has given her a new vision of life.At the age of 26, she made a vow to live a life of dedication to the realization of the Buddha dharma as a fully ordained Won-Buddhist reverend. She attended Won-Gwang university, which is the Won-Buddhist college, and the Dong-San Retreat Center and studied intellectual and religious practice respectively. Reverend Kim came to the United States in 1996, taught Buddhist meditation, yoga, and the Buddhist philosophy and practice to non-Buddhists and Buddhists, and established the Won-Buddhism of Boston temple in 2003. Her focus is on the guidance of Buddhist faith and practice using systematic instruction and practical application in daily life following the Buddhist doctrines, specifically the Won-Buddhist teachings. She intends to harmonize the Buddhist doctrines and the mind cultivation, while discovering more accessible ways of realizing the Buddha Dharma.
